Why I Created Witchthistle Way

We were called out of retirement, away from the sun-drenched days of Florida, and back to our roots in the Midwest. Back to the wide-open skies, to family, to home. We left behind the sandy shores and waving palms not because we had to, but because we were needed - and because nothing matters more than being close to the people we love. Looking back, it was all part of something greater. Divine timing. A quiet unfolding. Our hearts and souls had always been steeped in the land, shaped by the rhythms of farming and homesteading. So when we arrived at our new little piece of paradise, we knew almost instantly. We had been led to something magical. Not long after, Witchthistle Way began to take root in my heart. More than anything else, I have always been a writer, a spinner of tales, a weaver of wonder. And now it was time to breathe life into that part of me. I began writing letters just for my grandchildren, telling stories of enchanting characters who appeared at our homestead and the adventures that followed. The letters were filled with charm and mischief and heart. They became our shared world. When my mother’s health took a dip, I included her in the storytelling, sending letters her way while she recovered. The joy it brought her lit something in me. From that moment on, there was no turning back. What started as a simple idea has now grown into an entire realm. Witchthistle Way is just the beginning. A second realm is already blossoming and will be released next year. But at its heart, this has always been about sharing stories. Spreading a little joy. Delivering a bit of magic right to the mailbox. I hope you’ll join us.
